Looking forward to the new dawn in Aggie Athletics as we move into the premier conference in the land. I won't likely make it to many games so I would like to meet up with other Ags to watch the games at local "vieweries".

This group is for people who graduated from The University of Texas at Tyler and are now residing in the greater Austin area. We will meet-up on a fairly regular basis for networking events. Things to discuss at the upcoming MeetUps (I'm open to other ideas; bring them): Creating a group database based on industry, location, and reasons to contact them for better networking for people who are moving here or looking to switch jobs or industries. Also see if members want a LinkedIn group. …

This is an experimental meetup to find people willing to work through the book "Divine Proportions: Rational Trigonometry to Universal Geometry". (See "http://wildegg.com/" for blurbs and FAQs). This is Norman J. Wildberger's textbook describing his discovery of Rational Trigonometry, an approach to trig that avoids SIN and COS and all transcendental functions. You may want to check at "Wild Trig" videos on YouTube to decide if you are interested in this approach. I've started the book, and fo …

ACC offers life drawing classes for college credit. So do St. Ed's & UT. Concordia offers drawing classes, but I do not believe they have lifedrawing. UT now only allows its art majors to take studio classes. And, good luck getting into the program!
If you live in San Marcos, you could contact the San Marcos Art …

I've been working from home for a couple of years now, but now that I've left college and I do it full time I'm starting to realize that there is a LOT of isolation involved. Knowing the city I live in, and that there are a good many Austinites who work from home like me, I can't be the only one starting to feel a little lonely working from my couch all day. So, I figured, why don't we all get out of the house for a little while? Set up shop in a coffee house or cafe for a couple of hou …

Who should join? If you are a student of Arabic or fluent in the language, come on down. The word "student" is used loosely. You don't need to be in school to join. The purpose of this group is to connect students of any level - college or otherwise - with friends that can push each other to increase their abilities. A meetup can consist of speaking together, sharing literature, or watching Arabic shows/films. The goal is to have fun and learn, in that order.

Presuming there is enough interest, we will schedule the first all-Ivy league alumns happy hour at a location TBA. Sign up, and let us know! (If you're a member of another school interested in attending or in expanding the membership group to include your institution, get in touch. We'll consider requests. We've already welcome grads from MIT, Berkeley, and Vassar.) A group like this exists in most major cities but not, it seems, in Austin - yet.
This group is for people who are in the mood to have some fun and make long lasting memories as we do it. Plan on happy hours, watching sports, tailgating, downtown and just some good ol' fun. We are allowed to enjoy life right?!? We are a new group, so meetup ideas a greatly appreciated!

In high school or college, you could join a choir. But now what? Many of us in our 20's and 30's miss the pleasure of gathering with friends and singing just for the fun of it. That's why we are inviting you to join us as we rediscover a lost American art form called community singing. This is not a choir and you don't even have to be a great singer. You only have to be fun to sing with. We aim to encourage all of Austin to reclaim their capacity to create great fun, community, and music through …
Shoujo Club of Austin is a specific collective of anime and manga fans who are inclined towards the shoujo/josei persuasion. What is shoujo? Literally, shoujo (少女) means 'young/little girl'. As a genre, shoujo is any form of media marketed to a female audience roughly between the ages of 10 and 18. This meetup group is for fans of this genre, and for the more mature josei (女性) titles as well, which is aimed more towards ladies and college-aged women. The aims for th …
… By joining us you will receive not only the tremendous satisfaction of assisting with our mission, but you help support our college scholarship program, scholarships to the Harmony Explosion Camps, our continued effort to work with school music departments in the Austin and Central Texas area. We also have an incredible Auxiliary Team that supports what we do, so if you have a spouse, family member, friends who may not be able to sing, but loves supporting music programs, we would love to have …

… There are a good deal of music questions, some politics, and a few about sports (anyone know professional and college sports?!?!?) It's a blast every week- with or without tequila! We'll post an update each week of the previous Saturday's silliness- and photos, too. Feel free to request membership, I'll add you and then you can read our weekly recaps.
